ALSE Tracker, created for U.S. Army Aviation Life Support Equipment Shops

ALSE Tracker has been in use in U.S. Army ALSE shops around the world for over 20 years and is licensed free of charge for unlimited use and distribution to military organizations. Support is via e-mail and links are provided in the application help menu as well as links back to this page.

ALSE Tracker provides Hand Receipts, Equipment Lists, Inspections Due, and much more. Basic areas are provided to track your shop Bench Stock and Technical Manuals with inventory and location reports. Aircraft equipment is tracked separately from individual equipment due to the varying responsibilities in different commands. Regular ALSE gear is tracked and printed for both Hand Receipt maintenance and inspection requirements as well as the ability to view and print by equipment category.

Detailed information about the program and how it operates is below as well as a Getting Started with ALSE Tracker page.

You should also consider using Mozilla Firefox to make your Internet browsing experience and computer much safer, especially if you currently use Internet Explorer.

An astute user has noticed an NSN that should be changed per FedLog entries. Signal Kit, Personnel, Distress, A/P25S-5A (Pengun Flares) correct NSN is 1370-00-490-7362 (instead of 1370-00-490-7361). Thanks to Dustin A. Baine for providing this information.

Download and Installation

Borland Database Engine

All Creative Software programs originally came with the database engine supplied with the installation disks for every program, but in order to make download times shorter, the Borland Database Engine (BDE) is now downloaded and installed separately. Please e-mail for a link to download the BDE installation program.

ALSE Tracker Installation Program - 2/21/2001 (build 2.0.2.26)

Self-Extracting Install Disk (1.98mb exe)

You will need to install the BDE separately if it is not already installed. See the BDE page for more information.

Please ensure you install the update below before using ALSE Tracker.

ALSE Tracker Program Update - 3/12/2002 (build 2.0.3.30)

The latest update to ALSE Tracker is here. This is a self-extracting archive of the ALSE Tracker program that will overwrite your existing program file. Your version will be 2.0.3.30 (check "Help", "About" in the program) when the update is complete.

This version has important updates for backup and restore as well as many small fixes. Please ensure you are using version 2.0.3.30.

Operating System Settings

Your user account will need read/write access to the root (C:\) and Windows directories for the application and BDE to operate correctly. Many admins (IMOs) lock down user accounts to exclude these directories which causes errors when running ALSE Tracker.

Windows® Vista

The database engine needs to write a lock file to the root directory and either specific permission for your user or the application must be given to the root directory. To do this, you may:
  • Turn off the User Access Control (UAC) system
  • right-click the ALSE Tracker executable and "run as administrator"
